My perspective and wide ranging career has as much to do with serendipity as my 5th grade teacher – who encouraged me to dream, see beyond the county line (even though it was Kings County - Brooklyn, NY) and try to live those dreams. I am a graduate of the public schools of New York City, including the High School of Music and Art – attended Bowdoin College, graduated from Bennington College, and was a member of the first graduating class of the Yale School of Management. After a couple of jobs in public administration in New York City, including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey – in the World Trade Center – and as the management analyst for first Central Park Administrator – at the Arsenal, in the Zoo, in Central Park – I left public service to become a story teller (or content creator in the current parlance) using the airwaves to reach my audience… I got my start in professional broadcast TV and radio as a newsman in Fairbanks, Alaska

After 5 years of chasing dogs through the Yukon, trucks up the haul road, Army Rangers through the tundra, Alaska State Troopers through the bush and a million and one other once in a lifetime experiences – I returned to the “lower 48″ to do “real” TV in LA.I was a staff producer/director on Grant Tinker/Gannet’s USA TODAY on TV, and was hired by Harvey Levin of TMZ fame on the nationally syndicated Superior Court. I worked on a variety of other tv shows, movies, and commercials in a variety of roles – from intern to driver to researcher to writer/producer/director. I spent about 6 years working for the Walt Disney Company’s KCAL TV – Disney's first broadcast property before buying the ABC TV Network. We did 3 hours of news in prime time. I was Senior Special Projects Producer, and was privileged to work in the field on many of the defining local stories of the decade – including the OJ Trial, the LA riots, the Northridge Earthquake, fires in Malibu and Orange County – even the election of Nelson Mandela from Johannesburg. We won more local and national Emmys and awards than any other station in the market during those years.
My wife and I moved to Chicago to raise our kids - where i worked with various production companies to use broadcast, corporate and social media in all its evolving forms – for broadcast networks, corporate clients, associations and whoever else has a story to tell. A digital media creative and curator. An executive producer of nationally syndicated prime time TV Programs, developing and distributing some of the first digitally streamed live content and a version of YouTUBE before it really happened.
Later, I served as SVP of Production, Programming and Editorial at ReachMD – a medical information and education service that included XM160 – the only nation-wide broadcast channel for medical professionals. I also served as Director of Digital Media for The Health Care Blog.
I left the production company world in Chicago to take a position that utilized my media background in a new arena -the non-profit field. I worked with the foremost safety organization in America - the National Safety Council. I left the production company world in Chicago to take a position that utilized my media background in a new arena -the non-profit field. I worked with the foremost safety organization in America - the National Safety Council. I served as the Senior Director of Digital Strategy and Content - assembling a team of content creators to develop websites, videos, and digital media with the goal of helping to provide a safe environment at work and at home. This included becoming an expert in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and higher levels of automation in vehicles, That experience lead to my being named Director of Transportation Safety - and using my expertise to educate and inform the general public and testify in State and Federal Governments as they enacted legislation pertaining to advanced technology in automobiles and other safety measures for vehicles and all other road users.
Recently, after moving back to Los Angeles, I have been working at Sony Pictures Entertainment, one of the largest content creators on the planet, in the Safety, Sustainability and Security Department - combining my background in media and my background in safety.
